I love French Fries!

I guess you could call it my “guilty pleasure” except I no longer feel guilty when I indulge.

After many years of yo-yo dieting and waking up after having “bad days” because of whatever I ate the night before, I have finally learned the key to enjoying my favorite food: BALANCE!

Kale With A Side Of Fries was born when I finally realized that by balancing my favorite foods (and wine!) with my love for health, veggies and feeling energized, I could teach others to do the same.

I wasn’t always so balanced, though.

When I arrived freshman year of college to Roger Williams University, I was part of the statistic “freshman 15.” Going into my junior year I tried my first diet, the South Beach Diet, and had been on and off it for the better part of 8 years. It’s not that it didn’t “work” but it wasn’t realistic to be on a diet for the rest of my life and wasn’t realistic to think about food so much more than I needed to. But I finally realized that my passion IS food, eating, health and wellness and I needed to make this my career and stop bouncing from corporate job to corporate job. So, I went and got myself certified!

As a Certified Health Coach, I have the tools, tips and tricks to help you succeed in achieving your wellness and lifestyle goals just like I did for myself. In early 2014 I sent myself back to school at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become an expert in nutrition, wellness and overall health. I studied over 100 dietary theories but most importantly, learned that “diet” is a word I no longer associate with. We’re all unique and our bodies need different things in order to achieve optimal health. By sticking to a diet book or the latest craze, you may be doing yourself a disservice even though you’re trying so hard to “be good” and fit into your favorite dress next month.

When working with me, we will focus on all aspects of your life that may be contributing to you not feeling your best. It may be weight loss, stress management, sleep deprivation, unwanted acne, lack of exercise, drinking too much coffee to pull another all-nighter…the list goes on. Each session is customized to you so together we can reach your health goals, goals we set in session 1 where I will keep you on track and accountable during the entire program.

I just entered my 30’s and have now lived in New York City for the last 8 years; so if there is anything I understand, it’s how hectic life can be. Health isn’t always people’s main focus and it’s certainly difficult to balance eating well, cooking and the gym with work, family and a social life. You shouldn’t feel like your health has to come second to any of those things, it can be equally balanced and that’s what I’m here to help you with.

If you want to learn more and want to turn your energy back on and start feeling better in your own skin, let’s talk! I invite you to a Complimentary Health Consultation with me whenever you’re ready to take a leap and start feeling like you again.
